The Alexandra Park Community Centre (APCC) is a gathering point in the community for many reasons, but a big one is for the delicious food that is cooked up on a daily basis. The Centre offers a broad array of food programming, and during the pandemic, the importance of access to good food became even more apparent.
To ensure the volunteer chefs and members of the Culinary Crew were able to continue their important (and tasty) work in a space befitting their skills, the APCC’s Executive Director, Mohsin Khattak, approached Tridel to see whether there might be the potential to revamp their dated kitchen. Tridel, working with Community Partners like Paris Kitchens, Premier Contractors Limited, and others, as well as contributions from community members on demolition and painting, were able to put together a beautiful finished product.
We hope this kitchen will continue to be the hub of the Centre and many more of their culinary delights will be chef’d up for years to come!
